What is General Anaesthesia?
General anaesthesia is a medically induced state of unconsciousness used during dental or surgical procedures to ensure the patient feels no pain or awareness. Unlike local anaesthesia or sedation, general anaesthesia affects the entire body, requiring monitoring by an anesthesiologist. At SCULPT Dental Hospital, general anaesthesia is administered safely in a controlled environment for complex procedures or for patients with extreme dental anxiety, special needs or those undergoing multiple treatments in one visit. When Do You Need General Anaesthesia?

General Anaesthesia Procedure
Pre-operative Assessment
A thorough medical evaluation is done, including medical history, allergies and any existing health conditions. Blood tests or imaging may be recommended for safety.
Fasting and Preparation
Patients are advised not to eat or drink for several hours before the procedure. The anesthesiologist prepares the required dosage based on the individual’s weight and health status.
Administration of Anaesthesia
General anaesthesia is administered through an intravenous (IV) line or inhalation. Within moments, the patient falls into a deep sleep, unaware and pain-free during the procedure.
Monitoring During Treatment
Throughout the dental treatment, vital signs like heart rate, oxygen level and blood pressure are continuously monitored to ensure patient safety.
Post-operative Recovery
After the procedure, the patient is moved to a recovery room. As the effects wear off, patients may feel drowsy or disoriented but are carefully monitored until fully alert.

Dr. Janani is one of the excellent dentists I have seen. She is treating my son with invisilign braces and I too come here for all my dental related issues. She has enormous patience and answers all the queries of the patients with a beautiful smile always on her face. I really appreciate her treatment methods though I don't have any medical knowledge to comment on the same but I don't visit her for the same problem. It is solved in one go.

I had a missing tooth and wanted to get it replaced at the earliest. Went through sculpt dental hospital positive google reviews and visited to know options for replacing it. Doctor sanjay is very knowledgeable and experienced, he explained all the possibilities so well. I chose the dental implant option. And i love how it came out!

I recently started my treatment at scalp dental hospital and I must say it's one of the best dental clinics in Chennai. I underwent scaling ,dental implant and started Invisalign treatment here.
